Believe in yourself and be ambitious! (Post #5)

If chance will have me king, why, chance may crown me/ Without my stir. (Macbeth, Act I, Sc. 4, 147-148)

In this quote, Macbeth says that if fate wants him to be king, perhaps fate will just make it happen and he won’t have to do anything. This is a wrong thought! Your future depends on how you do, not fate!

I can always believe and wish to be an eminent doctor of Canada. However, this would never happen unless I actually start to take steps to become one. I would have to study hard at school, maintain a high average, get trained, and build up my knowledge in order to become the best doctor. I cannot just sit at home on the couch eating potato chips like a couch potato and talk to myself saying, “I am going to be the best doctor in the country!” Nothing will happen! Not going to school for education would not take me anywhere in reality.

This is where ambition plays an important role. If you truly have an eager desire of achieving or obtaining success and/or specific goal, you must do your best to do it. The whole thing about fate is bogus! Of course one can always wish, but it would not necessarily come true. To succeed, one must always try and be ambitious because without an attempt, nothing can be achieved. So believe in yourself; not fate. Then, you shall succeed!

How does the topic of the post relate to the overall theme?

Believe in yourself and be ambitious!
The topic of the post relate to the overall theme because being ambitious is all about how you conduct and perform your activities in life. You must believe in yourself and not think about fate like Macbeth!
